Privacy Policy

Overview
LikelyTaken collects the minimum data required to provide its services. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. This policy describes what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account, we store your email address and the date your account was created. No password is stored. We do not collect names, addresses, or phone numbers.
Search queries
Search queries are logged with a hashed browser fingerprint (not tied to an account or IP address) for abuse detection and usage analytics. Hashed query logs are retained for 90 days.
Watchlist data
Names you add to your watchlist are stored in association with your account. This data is deleted when you delete your account or remove the name from your watchlist.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. LikelyTaken does not store credit card numbers or payment details. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account.
Usage data
We collect basic server-side usage data (page requests, API calls, error rates) for operational monitoring. This data does not include personally identifiable information.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to provide and operate the service, send magic link authentication emails, send watchlist availability alerts (if you have enabled them), process payments and manage subscriptions, and detect and prevent abuse.
We do not use your data to train AI models, sell to third parties, or serve advertising.
Email communications
We send transactional emails only: magic links for sign-in, watchlist alerts, payment receipts, and brand report delivery. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
Email delivery is handled by SendGrid. Your email address is shared with SendGrid solely for the purpose of sending these messages.
Data retention
Account data is retained until you delete your account. Watchlist data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Hashed search logs are retained for 90 days. Payment records are retained as required by applicable law and Stripe's data retention policy.
Third-party services
LikelyTaken uses the following third-party services to operate:
Stripe, for payment processing and subscription management.
Neon, for database hosting.
Vercel, for frontend hosting.
Hetzner, for backend hosting.
Cloudflare, for DNS and object storage.
Twilio SendGrid, for transactional email delivery.
Upstash, for caching and job queuing.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We share only the data each service requires to perform its function.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@likelytaken.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
LikelyTaken uses a session cookie for authentication after sign-in. No advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies are set.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated to account holders by email.
